Title: IN-18 Wiring
Post by: bcage on February 01, 2014, 08:46:17 PM
I am using an Arduinix to build a nixie clock using IN-18 tubes.  The wiring diagram for the tubes shows 14 pins; 10 for the cathodes of the digits, 2 unused and 2 anodes... my assumption is that I can use either of the anode pins; is that assumption correct?

I checked two two pins for continuity on the IN-18 and they are connected.

I just wired up 2 IN-18 to my Ardruinix.   I used only one anode and everything looks fine.

I noticed on your video that the '1' char has a blue dot on it.  I've heard of this problem before.

have you tried to fix this?  have you tried actual 74141 chips?

I'd love to have some in18's but the 'blue dot' thing really turns me off.
